The ThriveCare approach

A woman smiling during a relaxed virtual appointment at home
  • Care that listens

Care starts with listening: taking the time to understand your health, your history and what you want to change, so your goals set the direction.

  • Care that sees the whole picture

The whole picture matters, including your medical history, bloodwork, medications, sleep, stress, activity and nutrition. From there, a plan is built together with you that is safe, evidence-based and realistic for your life.

  • Care at your pace

Everything moves at your pace, with no pressure. You're supported at every step, and the plan is adjusted as you go.

How it works

Getting started is simple

Three simple steps to your personal plan.

  1. Step 1: Reach out

Get in touch or book online for a quick 15‑minute meet and greet, to make sure ThriveCare is the right match for you.

  2. Step 2: Your first visit

A 45‑minute virtual appointment to review your medical history, set your goals together, arrange any bloodwork you may need, and build your personal plan.

  3. Step 3: Get started

Your plan is reviewed together, with education on nutrition, exercise and sleep, as well as how to take your medication if it's part of your plan.

Do I need a referral?

No, you do not need a referral. You can start with a complimentary 15‑minute virtual meet and greet. If you have a primary care provider, collaboration with them to support your goals is always welcome.

Are visits virtual?

All appointments are virtual, so you can meet with your nurse practitioner from the comfort of home. ThriveCare is based in Ontario.

How much does it cost, and is it covered?

Nurse practitioner visits aren’t covered by OHIP, so visits are paid privately, though they may be covered under your extended health benefits. Please check with your benefits provider to see what your plan includes. Bloodwork is covered by OHIP, and medication costs are separate and may be covered by private benefits or paid out of pocket. You’ll find details about each visit in the Fees section.

Can you prescribe medication?

Yes. Nurse practitioners in Ontario can prescribe medication. If medication is clinically appropriate for you, your options will be discussed together and included in your personal plan.

How does ThriveCare protect my privacy?

Your privacy is taken seriously. All consultations are confidential, and ThriveCare follows Canadian and provincial privacy laws to protect your personal health information.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your first visit is a 45‑minute virtual appointment to review your medical history, set your goals together, arrange any bloodwork you may need, and build your personal plan.

Is this a quick-fix program?

No. There are no one-size-fits-all protocols and no automatic prescriptions. Care is personalized and focused on sustainable, long-term results.
